I see Saffron has learned the first rule of magic: “Pick a thing you can’t possibly do, then be an idiot and do it anyway”.
Liri would be proud if she wasn’t currently dying of anaphylaxis.
It does make sense that a royal knight would be trained to fight mages. And if the mage’s attention is on your goofy sidekick that means they’re not guarding against the fast, brain addling flying knee to the head coming at them.
Also, despite his extreme predilection towards it, Corey is clearly not the only caster who suffers from bouts of hubris.
